Winter Skin Care: 3 Steps to more healthy, beautiful skin
3 Steps to more healthy, beautiful skin
STEP 1: Protect - Cold Winter weather and and extreme temperatures (outdoors and indoors) can have a negative impact on your skin during the Winter months. Be sure to bundle up to protect your skin before you go outside, and keep your thermostat set to a moderate temperature inside. You may want to consider using a humidifier to help keep your skin from becoming too dry.
STEP 2: Exfoliate - Our skin is always building up dead skin cells, but this can increase during Winter months, causing your skin to look dull and lifeless. It can cause blockages to your pores, as well. For most skin types, it is very beneficial to exfoliate 2-3 times a week to allow your fresh new skin cells to emerge. This will help improve the texture and clarity of your skin.
STEP 3: Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! During this time of year, your skin can easily become dehydrated and extremely dry. Your skin may even become flaky and irritatedfrom harsh Winter weather. It can be difficult to consume enough water when it’s cold outside, but your skin will be healthier and be more vibrant if you make sure to drink plenty of water (usually at least 8 glasses each day is recommended). Remember to deeply hydrate your skin with a good skincare intensive, like Charisma Skin’s Hydra gel, which will also help your skin to retain moisture, and apply the appropriate moisturizer for your skin in the morning and at night. For dry, sensitive skin, my personal favorite is Botanical Bio-Peptide Creme at night.
