What's Hot in the Skin Care Industry?
I recently came across an article by some skin and beauty industry experts that re-inspired me about some of the amazing skincare care devices/treatments and products that genuinely produce great results in the skin! What excites me most in this article is to see that a more holistic approach to the care of the skin has become one of the latest trends in the skin industry, as this has been my “skin philosophy” for years!
The authors of the article below are Barry Eichner and Jenni Nagle, owners of Lipgloss + Aftershave, a dynamic duo who were educators at one of the classes I had the privilege of attending at the International Esthetic Cosmetic and Spa Conference in NYC in 2019. Read on the learn more about what’s hot in our industry right now. Barry & Jenni’s article also included a review of one of the Celluma LED, a skin care device which has become one of my favorite tools to help my clients achieve healthier, more radiant skin.
“LED Light Therapy was new to the market in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Back then skin care customers wanted aggressive, anti-aging treatments that promised fast results. Skin care services were centered around aggressive exfoliation like microdermabrasion and chemical peels, combined with an onslaught of highly active cosmeceuticals, all promising to give the skin everything it needed to age beautifully.
Over the past 5 years, the industry’s focus has started to evolve into a more holistic understanding of skin. We’re learning that stimulating the skin’s function is key to improving skin health and thus – skin appearance. The industry is now focusing on methods of improving the basic building blocks of skin as go-to treatment options. There is a growing focus on: nutrition, use of facial massage tools, use of botani-clinical and organi-clinical ingredients, use of microcurrent and LED Light Therapy.
Just look around the industry, you see more skin care professionals focusing on treatments and products that will produce healthy skin. Brands that use botanical ingredients and plant based stem cells are growing and it seems that every prominent esthetician is showing off their favorite microcurrent and LED Light Therapy devices. All of these options have one thing in common – they stimulate the skin’s ability to help itself by fostering the production of ATP." (ATP is adenosine triphosphate, which essentially is the energy of life for our cells).
If you have not been in for a facial or an updated home care regimen lately, I encourage you to schedule now and let me help your skin be the best it can be! Try adding the Celluma Bio-Photonic LED facial to your Bio-Ultimate Age-Defying facial, or any facial, for extraordinary results!
I am also happy to report that Charisma Skin products have always been botanically based, since 2001.
Check back soon, as I'll be adding a new state-of the art skincare device and treatment to my skin care practice, and I’m excited to share it with you next month!
